Behavioral Health Services

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Unit is here to offer hope and help for patients and families who are experiencing psychiatric disorders and problems disrupting their daily lives. We strive to provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where patients may improve their understanding of the illnesses they face and learn coping skills that may improve their quality of life.

At Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, we are committed to helping people deal effectively with psychiatric, emotional and chemical dependency problems. Our goal is to provide a supportive environment to enable individuals to learn to cope with the problems and pressures they face. The units offer structured, multidisciplinary psychiatric treatment programs, comprised of activity and recreational therapy, social services and discharge planning components, and a variety of educationally focused groups. All clients are under the care and supervision of an individual psychiatrist who provides evaluation, individual therapy and medication management. This personalized approach assists the patient in achieving a healthier mental status and optimal level of functioning.

Our trained professionals provide pre-treatment assessment and a thorough evaluation of each patient before determining a level of treatment.  Patients may be provided with the options of inpatient or outpatient services. Every step of the way, family members and friends play a vital role in a patient’s recovery.
