The Physical Assessment and Rehabilitation Center (P.A.R.C.) offers a cardiac rehabilitation program to people who have had bypass surgery, heart attack, heart valve repair or replacement, PTCA, coronary stenting, a heart or heart-lung transplant, and/or have stable angina.

What is Cardiac Rehabilitation?

A progressive 12-18 week program, generally conducted 2-3 times a week and designed especially for cardiac patients to maximize recovery and increase strength and stamina.  It has been shown to lessen chances of recurrent episodes, reduce hospitalizations and improve the quality of life for many people who suffer from heart disease.

Other benefits to Cardiac Rehab:
  • Decrease cholesterol, triglyceride, and blood pressure levels.
  • Increase tolerance to stress and anxiety.
  • Reduce the risk of blood clots. 
  • Lessen or alleviate chest pain during exercise and daily living.

  • Provide a realistic approach to losing and controlling weight.
  • Prepare you and your family for a lifestyle that will reduce the risk of recurrent cardiovascular disease.

Because each patient’s physical condition differs, our trained licensed staff works with each individual patient to develop a  program specific to his or her rehabilitation needs. 

Cardiac Rehab Professionals

Working as a team with the patient and their physician, cardiac rehab specialists design the patient’s exercise program, monitors progress, provides for educational needs, and keeps the patient informed, while a registered dietician is consulted for dietary counseling.
