The Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is available for anyone who has a wound that just doesn't seem to be healing, otherwise called a chronic wound.  Various types of wounds treated at our Center include:

  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Crush injuries and severed limbs
  • Ischemic ulcers
  • Necrotizing infections
  • Postoperative infections
  • Postsurgical incisions
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Radiation injuries
  • Skin grafts and muscle flap salvage
  • Skin tears and lacerations 
  • Other non-healing wounds

Our trained staff of professionals work together to identify the specific cause of the non-healing wound before developing an individualized treatment plan, which may include:

  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy 
  • Infection control
  • Patient and family education
  • Protective devices
  • Skin grafting
  • Tissue oxygenation
  • Wound assessment
  • Wound debridement

The Center takes a multi-disciplinary approach to healing complex wounds—those not responding to traditional treatments. Our clinicians are wound care experts with leading edge solutions—seeing results in only weeks. During a carefully designed 12 to 16 week process, our expert team will select available technologies to encourage a faster rate of healing.
