Oncology Services are provided through the Danny Bell Cancer Treatment Center located within Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  The Danny Bell Cancer Treatment Center is committed to providing the highest quality radiation therapy, reducing stress and to providing emotional support through its various services.  The Center is equipped with today’s best technology, designed to adapt to tomorrow’s breakthroughs.  

The Danny Bell Cancer Treatment Center utilizes Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT).  IMRT is advancement in 3-dimensional technology and allows radiation oncologists to modulate the radiation dose around critical structures that were previously limiting treatments.  Another advent is the use of Computed Tomography (CT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) fusion to further limit and direct the radiation therapy. This allows physicians to treat more effectively while limiting dose toxicities.  

Each patient at the Danny Bell Cancer Treatment Center has a specific treatment plan.  Plans are developed through the use of simulations, CT, PET, diagnostic-quality x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and through the combined expertise of medical physicists, dosimetrists and radiation oncologists on staff at the Center.
