SINUPLASTY
A powerful procedure to treat chronis sinusitis: Balloon Sinuplasty™
The painful symptoms associated with chronic sinusitis can be overwhelming. Now, there is an additional surgical option for treatment of blocked sinuses called Balloon Sinuplasty™ Technology.
If you have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis and are not responding well to antibiotics, you may be a candidate for surgery. Carl E. Bosely, DO, an otolaryngologist with Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, now has a less invasive option that is clinically proven to be safe, effective and improve the quality of your life. Balloon Sinuplasty™ Technology is an endoscopic, catheter-based system for patients suffering from sinusitis.
The FDA-cleared technology uses a small, flexible sinus balloon catheter to open up blocked sinus passageways, restoring normal sinus drainage. When the sinus balloon is inflated, it gently restructures and widens the walls of the passageway while maintaining the integrity of the sinus lining. The benefits of Balloon Sinuplasty™ Technology include:
- Safe and effective
- Minimally invasive
- Minimal bleeding
- Does not limit treatment options
FUSION ENT NAVIGATION SYSTEM FOR IMAGE-GUIDED SINUS SURGERY
Through Charles Potter, MD, an otolaryngologist with Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, your sinus problems could be relieved through an innovative, image-guided sinus surgery called the Fusion ENT Navigation System, available now at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
The Fusion ™ ENT Navigation System allows Dr. Potter to operate with the maximum amount of information about the unique anatomy of each patient and "see" the relative location of the instrument tip in the patient's sinus cavity during surgery. Image-guided surgery with the Fusion system provides real-time images to help the surgeon navigate in the sinuses for precise removal of diseased tissue while avoiding critical areas.
The Fusion system allows customization for each surgeon, including procedure-specific pathways for FESS and lateral or anterior skull base, as well as surgeon-specific room setup. The Fusion™ ENT Navigation System is an electromagnetic image-guided surgery system that offers reliable accuracy, ease of use, and expandability. Image-guided sinus surgery and transnasal skull base surgery with the Fusion system helps surgeons navigate each patient’s unique anatomy for safer, more thorough procedures when operating near crucial structures, such as the brain, orbit, or carotid artery. It can be used for various sinus surgeries, including revision surgery, polypectomy, frontal sinus surgery, and posterior ethmoid and sphenoid sinus surgery. The Fusion system allows customization for each surgeon, including procedure-specific pathways for FESS and lateral or anterior skull base, as well as surgeon-specific room setup.
