Volunteer Opportunities at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center and Auxiliary are the perfect way to help our patients, their families, and our community, while building friendships and developing a deep sense of accomplishment.   We currently have the following volunteer opportunities available.  

Patient Services Volunteers
Volunteers providing services for patients are valuable services at our hospital. They assist patients with their meals, bring them a newspaper or just spend time reading or listening to them. Sometimes it’s hard to tell who’s having the best time, the patients or the volunteers.  

Information Desk
This position allows you meet and greet the public, assist patient family and friends with room information, and deliver patient mail. The greeting of the Information Volunteer provides hospital visitors with the important “first impression”. Being an Information Desk Volunteer is very rewarding and the only experience you need is a great big SMILE.  

Waiting Room/Emergency Department
Waiting rooms are person-to-person areas. The Waiting Room Volunteer acts as a liaison with the hospital staff, keeping visitors and family members informed of the patient’s status. In addition, the Waiting Room Volunteer provides hospitality to these visitors by serving refreshments as well as compassion and concern. If you really enjoy people, then the waiting room is for you.  

Marketing and Community Relations 
As a Marketing and Community Volunteer you have the opportunity to show your creativeness by assisting with various hospital projects, such as bulletin boards, Lunch & Learns, associate events, volunteer and hospital week, etc. If you’re creative, enjoy decorating and people, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
