POPLAR BLUFF, MO (October 19, 2012) – Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center officially announces today the plans for moving into the new hospital facility on Oak Grove Road. PBRMC will host a ribbon cutting on Friday, January 18, 2013 followed by a Community Grand Opening event on Saturday, January 19, 2013. This event will allow community members to tour the new facility. Specific details for these events will be announced during the coming months.
The week following Grand Opening events, PBRMC will begin moving all hospital departments from the current North Campus to the new facility on Oak Grove Road. Moving will conclude on Saturday, January 26, which will be the patient move day when all patients will be transferred from the current North Campus to the new hospital. The new hospital will be fully operational beginning January 26, with the Emergency Department opening at 6:00 a.m. PBRMC is already working with area law enforcement and EMS services to ensure a smooth transition for our patients and their families.
In addition to the new 425,000 square foot campus, PBRMC is also adding an additional 25,000 square feet for a Physicians Office Plaza. The office plaza will be connected to the current campus. Currently, PBRMC has several specialty physician offices located in various medical office buildings in Poplar Bluff. This new office plaza will allow all specialty physician offices to be in one convenient location close to the new hospital facility.
Specialty physician offices located in the new Physician Office Plaza will include cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, orthopedics, rheumatology, OB/GYN, pulmonology, and surgery.
The Physicians Office Plaza is scheduled to open during the summer of 2013.
