(February 8, 2012) - The construction of the new $173 million Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is a demonstration of Health Management’s commitment to continue the development and enhancement of healthcare services to better serve the Southeast Missouri region. To facilitate our plans for growth, we are implementing a new organizational structure that better aligns the skills and talents of our leaders and prepares our Missouri hospitals and physicians for the future.
We are pleased to announce that Charles Stewart has accepted the position of Market-CEO – Missouri effective February 1, 2012. Charles will be responsible for overseeing the Missouri Region including both Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center and Twin Rivers Medical Center. Charles comes to us from Hutcheson Health System in Georgia where he was CEO of the system, consisting of an acute care hospital, nursing home, home health and hospice services and cancer center. Prior to Hutcheson, Charles has led several system hospitals in Alabama and Tennessee through financial turnaround and service line growth and development.
Charles is an experienced healthcare executive with strengths in building alignments with physicians, revenue growth, and creating a culture based on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. His skills will serve to further the Missouri market growth and the communities we currently service. As Market-CEO, Charles will be based out of Poplar Bluff and also serve as Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center CEO.
Greg Carda, who served as CEO over the past 2 years, will assume the role of Market-COO. In his new role Greg will work in concert with Charles to pursue new development opportunities, work closely with hospital-owned physician clinics, and oversee certain hospital operations.
