Visitor Information

The love and support that comes from our patients' families and friends is an important part of the healing process. However, it is equally important for each patient to rest and for our medical staff to be able to administer the best possible care. For these reasons, we have structured visiting hours and policies.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours and regulations have been established for each unit. Check at the information desk or a nurse's station for specific regulations for a particular department.

  • We encourage no more than two or three visitors per patient at one time.
  • We encourage visitors to only stay 30 minutes to one hour to allow patients to rest.
  • Children 12 years and older may visit when an adult is present; young children should not visit the hospital.
  • To protect our patients and visitors, it is important that children not be exposed to germs in the hospital, and patient's should not be exposed to children's illnesses.

Visitors may be asked to leave the room during a test or treatment or when the doctor or nurse needs to see the patient.

Gifts for Patients

Visitors should check at the nurses' station before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients. Please check to see that your gift is appropriate.

Condition Reports

Any personal information about a diagnosis and treatment must come from the patient's doctor. This information is only available to members of the family who the patient designates. Information can be given per telephone with identification of the "password".

Overnight Visitation

A guest may not stay overnight with a patient in a semi-private room. If it is necessary for a guest to stay overnight with a patient, the patient is required to be in a private room. Immediate family of ICU patients will be permitted to rest in the ICU waiting room from 10 p.m. - 6 a.m.
